Lochac Target Archery Handbook – Plain English Edition
This document is a version of the proposed Society Target Archery rules, written in plain English, according to the New Zealand Government Style Guide for government agencies, and in line with plainenglish.gov in the US.
A Flesch reading-ease scale score of 65 or above is thought to be plain English. This isn’t set in stone though — sometimes specific terms can drag the reading ease down, so government agencies aim to get above 60. This document now has a score of 61.6, up from the original’s 56.5
Put simply, plain English makes following the rules easier.
