Authorising as an assistant marshal
- Minors aged 16–17 years may be youth armoured combat assistant marshals. Check age - can't be an assistant marshal in armoured unless over 18...
- A youth armoured combat assistant marshal may be authorised after demonstrating the ability to:
- know the Lochac Youth Armoured Combat Rules.
- supervise youth combatants both in the lists and in melee combat.
- promote safe practices and enforce the rules of the list.
- Youth armoured combat assistant marshals do not need to be authorised in any other SCA martial activity.

- In Australia, the candidate must show proof they have a working with children background check as required in their jurisdiction in order to complete their authorisation.

- inspect weapons and armour used in youth armoured combat.
- Youth armoured combat marshals do not need to be authorised in any other SCA martial activity.
Authorising as a youth armoured combat authorising marshal
- The candidate must have a current youth armoured combat marshal authorisation.
- A youth armoured combat authorising marshal may be authorised after demonstrating the ability to:
- judge a youth combatant's authorisation.
Youth armoured combat sparring partner
- A Youth Armoured combat Sparring Partner may be authorised after demonstrating the ability to:
- understand the differences between the divisions with regard to calibration and allowed shots
- spar safely and chivalrously with youth from at least two divisions
- promote safe practices and enforce the rules.
- All youth combat marshals must be familiar with the Child Protection Policies and Procedures of SCA Ltd in Australia or SCANZ in New Zealand, depending on the country that they are marshalling in.
- These requirements are irrespective of age and apply to minors as Assistant Marshals also.
- All marshals must be authorised to marshal youth combat and be able to show proof as required.
- All marshals must show proof they have any working with children background check required in their jurisdiction in order to complete their authorisation, refer to the SCA Ltd policies which can be found at Australia Policy; and SCANZ policies which can be found at NZ Policy
