Punch testing - 1 January 2024

Clarification added to ensure that a swatch of material cannot be kept in a closet and brought out to punch test; the protective garment itself must be subject to the test, as the swatch of fabric will otherwise not be subjected to the same wear and tear as the garment itself.

Ballistic nylon and commercial fencing clothing rated to at least 550 Newtons must be tested every two years, as they can degrade with use.
