- Inner thigh covereage requirement removed
- In May 2021, coverage requirements for the inner thigh were removed as a Society rule change. There was a brief period in where these rules had been amended with this change without permimssion from the Board of SCA Ltd Australia and Committee of SCANZ, so the requirement was reinstated between October 2022 and January 2023 when it was finally approved to be removed. As a reminder, Society rule changes do not apply in Lochac until they are approved by our Board and Committee and included in this handbook.
- Face protection in spear drills - 1 January 2024
- You must wear full face protection when your opponent has a spear during drills.
- Heavy leather - 1 January 2024
- The handbook previously had two contradicting definitions of 8oz heavy leather. We have settled on 3.2mm for 8oz leather to be consistent with Society rules.
- Neck protection - 1 January 2024
- Image added to clarify what parts of the neck must be protected by rigid material, and what sized gaps may be allowed. We require greater coverage than Society rules.
- Footwear - 1 January 2024
- We have added a rule that everyone on the field must wear enclosed footwear to prevent punctures and resulting infection. This exceeds the Society requirement for abrasion resistant material on the feet.
